E-learning

        E-learning is one of a teaching and learning approach to apply the ICT info structure for knowledge dissemination and implementation of collaborative learning. E-learning can be applied in the implementation of a course or program remotely and also for improving the quality of face to face teaching and learning for the courses or programs implemented in the conventional way.

        Dimensions of collaborative learning through discussions or face to face interaction can be extended and expanded on-line synchronous or not synchronized in this mix of learning approaches. Through this approach, students have flexible learning times to interact among themselves or with the lecturer. At the same time, students can save time in the process of strengthening the fact in the discussion by searching information on the Internet without having to leave the online discussion sessions. ICT info structure in terms of e-learning consists of three main components of computer hardware (server systems, network systems and computer users), software and e-learning applications and various categories of users (teachers, students, teaching designers, content developers and staff technical).

        Implementation of e-learning not waives methods of teaching and learning in person. This concept is implemented with the objective to improve the quality of teaching and learning through access to learning materials on the internet and intranet in a more guided and systematic. In addition, the method of discussion or online interaction can be created through the implementation of e-learning concept. Activity-based learning in the online interaction between students and lecturers or students with students is an alternative to face interaction in the lecture hall or tutorial room. Interaction is done online synchronous or not synchronous with the lecturer as a facilitator, giving students the opportunity to implement collaborative learning and learning at their own appropriate time.
